Charles F. Hammen"Charlie", beloved husband of Tomi Hammen was born May 30, 1932 to Hazel Ford Hess in Baltimore, Maryland, and currently resided at 9201 Central NW. in Albuquerque, NM. He died suddenly June 16, 2002 after a life devoted to Public Service. As a USAF Koran Veteran and member of the Honor Guard, he was selected as Airman of the Year and honored by Governor John Burroughs while serving with the Air Police Squadron at the Manzano Base in Albuquerque. After 14 years in the Air Force, he continued to serve as Police Officer, Booking Officer, Corrections and Detentions Officer at Annarundel and Jessups in Maryland and Montessa in Albuquerque; Animal Control Officer in Albuquerque, Taxi Driver, published photographer, Ordained Minister, and HAM KE5ER, KM4MJ, and KJ5CD. A true voyeur, with wheels on his feet, Charlie traveled the USA, Mexico, Central America, and Japan. He carried with him many gifts of love, humor, and stuffed toys, bringing smiles and laughter to friends and strangers of all ages. His only desire with each gift was"PASS IT ON!"
