Obituary for Chiordi

Sophie Domme Chiordi, asleep in Jesus June 22, 2002. She had been ill for several months and had broken her pelvic bone two weeks ago. She died peacefully in her sleep. Sophie is survived by her son, Michael John Chiordi and Helen Corcoran Chiordi; and her daughter, Carol Ann Chiordi-Jones and her husband, Charles. Sophie, wife of the late John Chiordi, was a longtime resident of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her brother, Clarance Domme; sisters-in-law, Hilde Chiordi, Katherine Domme, and Wilma Domme Tashing of Albuquerque; and her sisters, Margaret Theis of St. Louis, Mary Ann Padgett and her husband, Bill of Topeka, and Sister Elizabeth Domme of Leavenworth, Kansas. Sophie had three grandchildren, Angelus Person of Albuquerque, Michelann Tachibana of Dallas, and Bryan Michael Chiordi Jones of Phoenix. She had seven great-grandchildren. Sophie's husband, John, who died in 1990, was the owner of United Wholesale Liquor Company and before that, owner of Chiordi Baking Company. Her son, Michael, is manager of Southern Wine and Spirits of New Mexico. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 27, 2002, 10:30, at Immaculate Conception Church, 619 Copper NW, with Father Edward Domme, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bryan Chiordi Jones, Wes Tachibana, Gary Person, John Franchinni, Dan Domme and Ernest Montgomery.
