Gary Hugh Benally, September 17, 1960 - June 23, 2002. Gary H. Benally, 41, of Red Valley, AZ passed away at his home in Albuquerque on Sunday, June 23, 2002. He was born September 17, 1960, in Shiprock. He is survived by his wife, Theresa M. Benally; son, Gilbert H. Benally; daughter-in-law, Karen Armstrong; grandson, Damien Benally; foster daughter, Salvina Harvey; daughter, Micheryl Benally; and stepdaughter, Michelle L. Shorty. He is also survived by his father, Timothy H. Benally Sr.; brothers and sisters, Tim H. Benally Jr., Janice Bidtah, Jerry H. Benally, Carol A. Jacobson, Jerolene Chichuchua, Darrell H. Benally and Tamara A. Benally, all of Red Valley and living in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Rose Benally; and brother, Anthony H. Benally. Gary served his country in the U.S. Army from 1979 until 1983 and was discharged as a Specialist 4th Class. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2002, at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Kirtland, NM. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2002, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Shiprock, with Father John Paul Sauter officiating. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at the family cemetery in Red Valley.
