Andrew"Andy" Atencio, age 85, and a lifelong resident of New Mexico and originally of Mora, died July 2, 2002 in Albuquerque. Survivors include his wife - Grace Atencio of Albuquerque; daughters - Rose Marie Rodriguez of Albuquerque, Patsy Cizan and husband Clifford of TX; son - Bill Atencio and wife Lupe of Albuquerque; brothers - Al Atencio and wife Charlotte of Albuquerque, Louie Atencio and wife Rose, Martin Atencio and wife Priscilla of CO; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; Monique, Retta, Pam, Liz, Carlos, Heidi, Trish, Christina, and Jackie. Andy worked for Dicus Beauty & Barber Supply for 25 years and Strombergs for 24 years; he enjoyed working in his yard and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. A memorial mass will be held 9:00 am, Saturday, July 6, 2002 at our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Bill Chavez, Jesse Graves, George Padilla, Donald Kelso, Carlos Rodriguez, and Jason Engel. Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE is handling his arrangements.
