Obituary for Evans

Dorothy S. Evans, passed away in Albuquerque on Thursday, June 27, 2002. The daughter of George J. and Ollie K. Schardon, she was born at Chicago, IL, March 3, 1923. Dorothy came to Albuquerque over 50 years ago and worked as an electronics assembler for Sandia Labs for 32 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George L. Schardon, Sr.; and her sister, Margaret Favia. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Margaret Schardon; nieces and nephews, Judith Favia, Kathy Schardon, George L. Schardon, Jr., Nancy Schardon, Alan Schardon, and Larry Schardon; and her very good friends, Carol, Sally and Dolly. Dorothy was very involved her entire life, giving items to school and charities; and was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi, where she served as president several times. No public services are planned. For any who wish, the family suggests memorial gifts in Dorothy's name may be made to the Storehouse, one of her favorite charities. Sunrise Society is serving the family. 891-8200.
