Obituary for Black

Jonathan Alan Black, age 39, of Richmond, died Thursday (July 4) at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 13, 1963 and was a 1980 graduate of Richmond High School. He had worked as a paramedic for the former Aid Ambulance Company and was a member of First Baptist Church where he sang in the church choir. He was a volunteer at Westview School and for the American Cancer Society and had served in the United States Navy. He had lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 1992 through 2000 where he had worked for Tri-Corp Medical Lab and for Motorla. Survivors include, parents, Clyde and Carol Black of Richmond; brothers, Jeffrey, (Dolores) Black of Albuquerque, N.M., James, (Kristy) Black of Buton, Michigan; grandmother, Florence Deimling; friend, Jeffrey Glenn; one nephew and two nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jennifer Black. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday (July 7) in First Baptist Churc, 1601 South"A" Street. Rev. James Spon will officate. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service in the Fellowship Hall at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jonathan Alan Scholarship, for an RHS graduate entering a medical profession, in care of Wayne County Foundation, 33 South 7th Street, Richmond, Indiana 47374.
