Obituary for West

Charles F. West, 71, a longtime resident of Socorro, NM passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2002 in Albuquerque after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Charles was a Boy Scout Leader for 52 years and loved fishing, hunting, hiking and Bosque Del Apache tours. He retired in 1999 from White Sands Stallion Range. He is survived by his wife, Betty Cash West; his son, Roy E. West of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Leslie Carver and husband, Bill of Lubbock, TX, Linda Mullins of Las Cruces, NM and Sandi Littrel and husband, Danny of Fairbanks, Alaska; step-children, Linda Clawson and husband, Keith of Ramah, NM, Janet Brassell of Socorro and Barry Cash and wife, Trina of Willcox, AZ; 14 grandchildren, Richard and James Mullins, Valerie Littrel, Charlene Trahan, Ron Chambers, Amber Chambers, Bruce Moring, Michael Brassell, Randy Bishop, Katti Cash, Wesley Cas, Lori Blancett, Cody Cash and Nicole Cash; 11 great-grandchildren, Jennifer Park, Jason LaRue, Jada Randall, Stacy Serafin, Justin Oldfield, Clinton Baker, Cameron Chambers, Clayton Moring, Garen Moring, Nicole and Haley Brassell; four great-great-grandchildren, Eric Serafin, Christian and Avery Randall and Dilyn LaRue. Viewing will be Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at Steadman-Hall Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Socorro. Interment will be in Mancos, CO on July 12, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
