Betsy E. Shapiro, 62, a resident of Rio Rancho passed away on July 6, 2002. Betsy was born on July 15, 1939 in Buffalo, NY to Harry and Esther Hymowitz. Betsy was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Congretation Albert Synagogue. Betsy was very active in politics and was a proud member of the Democratic Club. She adored her family and her precious grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Betsy is survived by her husband, Earl Shapiro of Rio Rancho; her sons, Philip Shapiro and wife, Connie of Rio Rancho, Michael Shapiro and fiancé, Debbie, Daniel Shapiro all of Albuquerque; sister, Barbara and husband, Lou Montano of Auora, CO; brother, Raymond Howard and wife, Diana of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Cathy, Adam, David, Kevin, Mariah, Tori, DeAunna and a host of very special friends. A memorial service for Betsy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at Congregation Albert Synagogue, 3800 Louisiana Blvd. NE in Albuquerque with Rabbi Joseph R. Black, officiating.
