Obituary for Lopez

Margie Maes Lopez a long time resident of Los Lunas, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, on Friday, July 12, 2002. She was born to loving parents on November 3, 1942 in Belen, New Mexico. Margie was a fun loving person who touched the lives of so many with her beautiful smile and giving soul. She shared her faith in God and love for life with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Lopez; her children, Joylene Tafoya, Pamela Pagano, Robin Salias and John S. Tafoya; her parents Richard and Bertha Lovato of Belen; her five sisters: Marylou Ortega and husband Tino, of Albuquerque; Dolores Montano and husband Hilario, of Belen; Viola Maes Lucero, of Albuquerque; Cora Griego and husband Macario, of Tijeras; and Helen Chavez and husband Nick, of New Jersey; by her in-laws: Lydia Perez; Andrew and MaryAnn Lopez; Leon and Toni Lopez; Raymer and Nancy Jaramillo; Johnny and Berna Lopez; Cora Lopez; Bernadette Lopez; Lee Gonzales; and Lawrence Gonzales; her step brothers and sisters, Kate, Cirio, Betty, Gilbert, Rosendo, and Arthur Lovato. She loved and treasured her grandchildren, Ricarda Mendoza, Alicia Dominquez, Brandy Dominquez, a special grandson she raised Christopher Tafoya, Christina Tafoya, Rhiannon Montoya, Manuel Salias, Marianita Salias, Jeremy Vigil, Joshua Andrade and John Tafoya Jr.; great grandchildren, Dominic, Christopher, Amber, Angelic, Joseph, Margarito, Alexandra, and Walter. She was preceded in death by her daughter Dorothy Dominguez in 1998, her granddaughter Maggie Mae Dominguez in 1995, her brother Jimmy W. Maes in 1986 and her father Prudencio E. Maes in 1965. Cremation has taken place. A family visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:30pm until 7:00pm in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 pm, her nephew, Pastor Anthony Maes will preside. Gabaldon Mortuary in charge of the arrangements.
