Obituary for Krebs

Laurie (D'Aschbach) Krebs passed away June 30, 2002 in Seaside, OR. Laurie was born July 3, 1914 and lived in Pittsburgh, PA to Raymond and Mary (Lynchj) D'Aschbach. When she was ten years old, she moved with her family to a new subdivision ten miles north of Hollywood called Encino, CA. She attended school in Encino and graduated from Immaculate Heart in Hollywood. After graduation, Laurie attended UCLA. In 1941 she married Conrad Krebs, Jr. of Portland, OR and settled in Albuquerque where she raised their family and was active in civic affairs including the March of Dimes. She later had a career with Sandia National Laboratories. Laurie and Conrad were married fro 53 years until Conrad's death in 1993. In September of 1995, Laurie moved to Seaside, OR to be near her son, Jonathan Krebs. Laurie was active at the Seaside Senior Citizens Center while living at Neawanna by the Sea. In addition to her husband, her daughter, Maryanne Dorris Woodhull preceded Laurie in death in 1983. Laurie is survived by two sons, Dr. Conrad Krebs III of Binghamton, NY and Jonathan D. Krebs of Sitka, AK; a sister, Helen Woodard of Atascadero, CA; six grandchildren including Amy Krebs of Portland, OR and Tess Krebs of Binghamton, NY; Julie Dorris of San Luis Obispo, CA; Beth Chase of Oakland, CA and Jonathan and David Krebs of Portland, OR; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews survive as well. Funeral Services were held in Seaside, OR on July 7, 2002 with interment to be in Albuquerque.
