Obituary for Malmquist

Alice H. Malmquist, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on July 21, 2002. She was born on August 2, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to Sverre and Helga Nilsen. Alice was a very special woman, devoting most of her lifetime to volunteering for many organizations, particularly the Girl Scouts. She loved gardening and enjoyed taking care of her roses, was active in the ceramics club at Meadowlark Senior Center, and was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Rio Rancho. Alice will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband Al of Rio Rancho; daughter, Carol and husband Dan Grant of Rio Rancho; son, Roger Malmquist and his wife Rita of Butte, MT; sisters, Thelma Anderson of Westwood, NJ, Ruth and husband Rev. Stanley Dokken of Sun City, AZ; grandchildren, Adam and Carson Grant and Eric Malmquist. A memorial service for Alice will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 305 Unser Blvd., Rio Rancho (corner of Unser and Abrazo) with Rev. Donald H. Neidigk as officiant. Santa Fe National Cemetery will be her final resting place where a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, 305 Unser Blvd., Rio Rancho, NM 87124. Services are under the care of Sunrise Funeral Options, 505-891-9192.
