Obituary for Farquhar

Cecil M. Farquhar, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Sunday, July 21, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marjorie Farquhar; daughter, Roberta Farquhar and partner, Sonja Martens, all of Albuquerque; sons, Jeffrey Farquhar and wife, Gye of San Diego, CA and Mark Farquhar and wife, Teresa of Jemez Springs; two grandchildren, Kathryn Farquhar of San Diego, CA and Neven Farquhar of Jemez Springs; brothers, Herman Farquhar and wife, Ruby of Denton, TX, James Farquhar and wife, Eddie of Ft. Worth, TX and J.F. Farquhar and wife, Rose of Burleson, TX; and sisters, Odessa Hand of Ft. Worth, TX, Imogene Logan of Cumby, TX and Bettye Carlton and husband, Bob of La Porte, TX. Mr. Farquhar was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Farquhar. He was a WWII Army veteran. Mr. Farquhar was a member of Community of Christ Church in Albuquerque. Services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Elder Henry Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Terry Farquhar, Timothy Farquhar, Robert Winegar, William Winegar, Jr., Joe Thomas, and Gary Dixon. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas NE, 87110 or to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Rio Grand Division, 2021 Girard SE, Suite #201, 87106.
