Obituary for Patterson

Robert M. Patterson, 86, passed away suddenly July 25, 2002. He had resided in Albuquerque since 1967. He was born on December 27, 1915 in Madison, WI and graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Journalism in 1941. He worked for the Cape Cod Standard Times prior to his enlistment in the US Army in 1941 where he served until 1946. After his discharge, he went to work for the Department of the Army and in 1951, advanced to the Bureau of Indian Affairs. He retired as the Indian Affairs Data Center Executive Officer in 1973. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois; his sons, Robert Jr. of Albuquerque and Michael and wife, Wanda of Oklahoma; his daughter, Linda Stephens and husband, J. Michael of Albuquerque; his grandchildren, Ferrell Patterson and wife, Stacy, Beauchamp Patterson, Amber Tiger and husband, David, Morgan Bagley and husband, Clint all of Oklahoma, Chrisi Reid and husband, Mark of Huddersfield W Yorkshire England, Matthew Waite of Albuquerque, and Robert and David Stephens of Oregon; and five great-grandchildren, Thomas Lenaway, John Nichols, Justice Nichols, Garion Patterson and Molly Patterson; sisters, Florence (Patsy) De Master and husband, John of Sarasota, FL and their daughters, Jean and Barbara and sons, Doug and David, Mary Jean Hale and husband, Jim of Madison, WI; sister-in-law, Margie Manning of Tucson, AZ and her son, William and daughter, Karen. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Cremation took place at Sunrise Cremation Society. No Services will be held per his wishes.
