Obituary for Bowman

Herbert Clifford Bowman, 90, died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in Colorado Springs. He was born August 1st, 1911,in Topeka, Kansas, to Clifford and Ora Bowman, who are deceased. Also deceased are his sisters, Thelma Windscheffel and twin, Helen St. John. Herb is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise Bowman. He is also survived by his son, Laird Bowman, Laird's wife, Mary Bowman; three grandchildren, Debbie Cuchiara, Mitzi Bowman, and Nick Bowman; and two great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Leah Cuchiara. Herb graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas,in 1936. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity there. For 23 years, he was employed by the Federal Housing Administration. He and Louise lived in Albuquerque, from 1962 to 1994, when they moved to Colorado Springs. After retiring in 1973, they were active in the Wally-Byam Airstream Club and Herb was president of the New Mexico chapter. They traveled extensively within the United States, including Alaska, as well as to Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Eastern and Western Canada on Airstream Travel Club Caravans. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at 10:00 a.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka, Kansas. Mr. Bowman will be in-state on Tuesday, July 30, 2002, from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gable Funeral Home, who is handling arrangements.
