Obituary for Mcelroy

Martina J. McElroy passed away peacefully in Albuquerque on August 11, 2002. Martina was born in Sapello, NM on January 2, 1904. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy and husband, Ray Angel of Las Vegas, NM, Irene and husband, Richard Gotti of Albuquerque, and Marie and husband, Louie Geoffrion of Los Alamos, NM; step-sons, George McElroy and wife, Marge of St. Paul, KS and Joe McElroy of Denver, CO; 13 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Eugenia Martinez and Ignacia Martinez. She was preceded by her husband, Dewey McElroy; her parents, Vicente and Cleofas Jimenez; her two brothers, Carlos and Vicente Jimenez. She worked for Hoffman and Graubrath and Gordon Jewelers. She still found time to be active with the Elk's Does, President of the Firemen's Auxiliary, Sacred Heart Society and the VFW Auxiliary. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. at Rogers Mortuary on 6th and Reynolds Ave., Las Vegas, NM. Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas, NM on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 12:30 p.m. Pallbearers are Robert angel, Paul Gotti, Greg Geoffrion, Clifford Ulibarri, Tony Martinez and Joseph Martinez. We can never give enough thanks and praise to the staff of Manzano del Sol for the compassion and care they gave our mother.
