Obituary for Casey

Ambrose John Casey, age 86, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2002 at home after a long illness. He was born April 18, 1916 in Vivian, South Dakota to the late Joseph Franklin and Annie Elizabeth (SerVoss) Casey. He was married to Geraldine Agnes Molumby, in Cheyenne, WY and she passed away in July 1983. He is survived by his wife, Melba Shelby-Casey of Albuquerque; two daughters, Susan Agnes Casey-Sanchez of Los Lunas, Sheila Marie Casey-Kelly and her husband, Brian; two sons, Dennis Jerome Casey of Tucson, AZ, John Jerome Casey and his wife, Paula of Albuquerque; three sisters, Lois Miller, Kathleen Costello and Josephine Houska; ten grandchildren; one step-daughter, Ellen Doyle and one step-son, Luke Shelby. He was preceded in death by two sons, Colin John Casey in 1991 and David John Casey in 1981; one sister, Phyllis Myers; three brothers, Meryl, Delos and Mark; and one step-son, Matthew Shelby. He spent his childhood days in Chamberlain, South Dakota. He was a registered pharmacist for 41 years and practiced pharmacy in Wyoming and New Mexico. He was the owner and operator of Casey's Your Drug Store, west of Washington on Lomas. Ambrose was an entrepreneur in Wyoming, South Dakota, California and New Mexico. He loved music and enjoyed singing and playing many musical instruments. The Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening, August 28, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle N.E. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 29, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
