Obituary for Lucas

Martha Lucas, age 72 died peacefully in her home after a long struggle with cancer, on August 30, 2002. She was born on April 16, 1930 to Mattie Lee (Nunnally) Lucas and Leonard Floyd Lucas in Shamrock, Texas. She has resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents and older bothers, Louie Ray Lucas, and Al Lucas, both of Albuquerque. She is survived by her sister, Lola Lee (Lucas) Smith and two brothers, Bill and wife, Darlene of Burbank, California and Chuck and wife, Linda of Albuquerque, and Theresa Lucas of Albuquerque. She deeply loved and influenced her nieces and nephews, Donna, Joyce, Anita, Billy (Bill), Tina, Craig, Jeff, Kimberly, Kerri, Jennifer and Tamara. Marm always considered her faith and family to be great blessings of God, and we, her family, have been blessed by her. She was a member of the Methodist Church and served as a church treasurer, and is most fondly remembered for her work with children of all ages. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2002 at French Mortuary - Lomas Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Services will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary -- Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Pallbearers: Bill Lucas, Chuck Lucas, Seth Allen, Steve Shook, Claude Bass, Jerry Rains. Officiating will be Reverend Steve Davis and Dr. Terry Anderson.
