Obituary for Schultz

Christopher Schultz, 32, Student of Optical Physics. Christopher Karl Drachenberg Schultz, a dedicated physics student, and wonderful friend to all that knew him, died Thursday June 20th 2002.Chris had been a student at the University of Arizona Optical Sciences department and was working on his PhD. He was involved in many projects and was a valued member of the teams that he was on. In 1999 Chris graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor's degree in Physics. He also was that years recipient of the prestigious Feynman award. He was intensely proud of his dedication and perseverance in getting his degree as well as his acceptance to the University of Arizona Optics program that is known worldwide as being one of the best.He made several good friends while at school and was very proud of the grades he was getting and his contributions there. Before he went out to Arizona he had spent most of his life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He lived there with his father and brother from the age of 12. He had many terrific friends in Albuquerque who will miss him deeply. A wake was held on Wednesday, June 26th and was attended by his father, brother, and his many friends over the years.Chris was born in Saginaw, Michigan on March 27th 1970. He is survived by his father, Ronald Schultz; mother, Carolyn Schultz; and brother, Jonathan Schultz. His family would like to thank all those that have been kind and giving over this difficult time, and wish for all those who knew him to remember him fondly and for the good times he had on this earth.In Chris's memory, a scholarship fund has been established.
