Obituary for Romero

Jose Jeffie Romero 77, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on September 7, 2002. Mr. Romero is survived by his five daughters, Helen Gutierrez and husband, John, Lupe Romero-Roberts and husband, Cristobal, Dora Jean Romero, Irene Romero, Gina Gutierrez and husband, Juan; three sons, Jeffrey G. Romero and wife, Cindy, Reynaldo Romero Marquez and Lorenzo Romero Marquez; one sister, Lola Chavez; one brother, Trinidad Romero and wife, Cathy of Barstow, CA.; a special niece, Sofie Chavez; a special nurse, Marveline Thompson; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Romero was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. A visitation for Mr. Romero will be Thursday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father Manuel Viera. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be, Lupe Romero-Roberts, Gina Romero-Gutierrez, Jeffrey Romero, Mitchell Romero, Michael Diaz and Trinidad Chavez. Gabaldon Mortuary in charge of the arrangements.
