Obituary for Maxwell

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday September 12, 2002

Cheryl Ann Maxwell, 39, beloved daughter of Charles E. Maxwell and Maryann Pedercini Maxwell passed away August 20, 2002 following a lengthy illness, multiple sclerosis, of 20 years. Cheryl was born in Albuquerque on April 22, 1963, attended local schools and graduated from Eldorado High School in 1982. Cheryl loved nature and she was especially fond of cats, which were parallel to her nature of independence and devotion. She enjoyed the small pleasure of smoking cigarettes. As she said,"It's the only thing that I have left to show my independence." She touched the lives of all that knew her. A giving, caring and loving person, she had an unwavering faith to the Catholic Church. An unbreakable spirit, she endured many hardships in the past several years. Until the very end, the most valued possession in her life was her family and she will be greatly missed by those who love her so deeply and took care of her through the many very challenging times of her life. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Maxwell in 1995. She is survived by her dear mother, Maryann Maxwell; devoted father figure, Robert Huff of Rio Rancho, NM; understanding and supportive brother, Steven Maxwell and unselfishly dedicated sister-in-law, Kelly of Plano, TX; understanding and supportive brother, Glenn Maxwell and wife, Gale of Rio Rancho, NM; sister, Julie Ponce and husband, Roger of Chandler, AZ; niece, Marissa Maxwell; nephews, Adam Jacobs, Mitchell Maxwell and Evan Ponce. Cremation has taken place at Oak Cliff Funeral Chapel, Dallas, TX. A Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Marks Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano, TX. Another Memorial Mass was held at St. Thomas Aquines Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, NM. Thank you, Cheryl, for what you have given and shared with us!
