Obituary for Baca

Eloisa Baca, age 96, and a resident of Albuquerque died September 17, 2002. Eloisa was born in Belen, New Mexico to the late Bernardino and Placida Baca. Survivors include brother, Ernest Garcia of Chevy Chase, MD; nieces, Lucille Alford of Livermore, CA, Gladys Wismann of Denver, CO, Mary Agnes Williams of Farmington, NM, Cecilia M. Baca of Albuquerque, NM and Charlene Cunningham of Tijeras, NM; nephews, Leroy DeSoto of Roseville, CA, Stephen Garcia of Gaithersburg, MD, Milton Baca Jr. and Clemente Baca both of Albuquerque, NM. Eloisa was a schoolteacher in San Mateo, NM and Belen, NM from 1925 - 1927. In 1930 she became co-owner with Salomon DeSoto of the Sanitary Tortilla Factory and El Comedor DeSoto in Albuquerque. Eloisa was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in Fern Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 23, 2002 with Fr. Louis Lambert, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Milton Baca Jr., Clemete Baca, Ernest Alford, Guy Wismann, Steve Wismann and Alissa Kreuch serving as Pallbearers. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is handling all arrangements.
