Obituary for Martinez

Juan B. Martinez, age 89, beloved father, grandfather, and brother was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, Sunday, 29, 2002. Juan was a parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church; a proud United States Navy Veteran who served our country during World War II; he was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter III. Juan is survived by his sons, J.V. Martinez, Jr. and wife, Ruby of Albuquerque, Joseph M. Martinez and wife, Blanca of San Diego, CA, Anthony M. Martinez of Pueblo, CO, Ted A. Martinez of Albuquerque; one daughter, Maria Wolff and husband, Ted also of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martina Herrera and Victoria Chavez and husband, Tomas both of Santa Fe, NM; daughter in law, Nancy Martinez; and many other relatives. Juan will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary; where a rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe, NM. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Casket bearers will be Joe Martinez, Anthony Martinez, Robert Schmitt, George Waquie, Jason Schmitt, and Skyler Schmitt.
