Obituary for Stovall

Virgil Stovall, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1956, was born October 4, 1924, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Doris Stovall; daughter, Janie Powell and husband, Lu; son, Mickey Stovall and wife, Sonya; grandsons, Joshua Stovall and Douglas Stovall and wife, Samantha; granddaughters, Kim Kupec and husband, Tom and Michele Papich; seven great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Cecil Loewen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and 11 brothers and sisters. Virgil was a decorated Air Corps Captain in WW2 as a B-24 lead bombardier navigator with the 456th Bomb Group stationed in the European Theater. Virgil retired from Roberson Construction Co. after many years of accounting and management for the man he considered to be his best friend, Coda C. Roberson. Virgil was a member of the Rock Island Lodge #869, Masonic Temple for 55 years. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2002, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with J. Curtis Goldman officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
