Obituary for Longacre

Mr. Reuben H. Longacre, 80, passed away on October 2, 2002. Mr. Longacre was born in Pena Blanca, New Mexico on March 1, 1922 to Reuben and Teresita Longacre. Mr. Longacre is the beloved husband of 60 years to Mrs. Fessie Longacre. He is also survived by two daughters, Tess Greenwood and husband Ron, Nora Parnell and husband Bob; grandchildren, Ginger and Rod King, Blake Greenwood, Keith and Laura Greenwood, Scott and Heidi Parnell, Andy and Tracy Greenwood; great-grandchildren, Cory, Cyle, and Christopher King, Dustin Greenwood, Ginny, Rebecca and Ryan Greenwood, Zachary Thorpe, Travis and Trey Parnell; brothers, Ben Longacre and wife, Helen, Jess Longacre and wife, Char; sisters, Ferby Vigil and husband, Aurelio and Tomasita Garcia; numerous nieces, nephews and lots of friends. Mr. Longacre was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Ruben and Teresa Longacre; brothers, Joe, Dave and Tony; sisters, Isabell Montoya and Teresita Chavez. Mr. Longacre was a member of the Catholic Church, a member of the Operating Engineers for 52 years, he served on the Apprenticeship Council and Advisory Board for Workman's Compensation for 8 years and is a Veteran of the Unites States Army /Air Force serving in World War II. A visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. by Alice Chavez A final visitation will be Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church 1400 Arenal SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father Daniel Balizan. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with Military Honors by the D.A.V. Chapter #3. Pallbearers will be Scott Parnell, Blake Greenwood, Keith Greenwood, Andy Greenwood, Rodney King and Cory King. Honorary pallbearers will be, his great-grandchildren. His presence among family and friends will be missed and his memories will live with us forever. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, Building on Our Heritage Fund, c/o 1400 Arenal SW Albuquerque, New Mexico 87105.
