Obituary for Marquez

Mr. Jose Demetro Marquez, 76, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on October 10, 2002. Mr. Marquez is the beloved husband of 50 years to Rose Marquez. Mr. Marquez is also survived by three daughters, Inez Lopez and husband Steve, Margaret Sanchez and Filiberto Gallardo, Betty Marquez de Meza and husband German; one sister, Ofelia Purcell and husband Charles; one brother, Leonard Marques and wife Sophie; sister in law, Mary Marquez; seven grandchildren, Stevie, Rosemary, Jose, Angelic, Daniel, Victoria and Gabriella; four great grandchildren, Isaiah, Alyssa, Elias and Alexus; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Marquez was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. A visitation will be Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. A final visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Father Manuel Viera. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with full Military Honors. Pallbearers will be, Steve Lopez, German Meza, Filiberto Gallardo, Stevie Lopez, Jose Lopez, Benny Chavez and Daniel Marquez.
