Ernest Arthur entered into rest Thursday, October 10, 2002. Loving father and father in-law to Marie and Art Silva of Grass Valley, Ernie and Theresa Fierro of Fremont, James and Marie Fierro of Fremont. Cherished grandfather to Richard, Lisa, Danielle, James and David. Beloved great-grandfather to Teressa, Dorian, Tyler, Brett and Cheyenne. Dear uncle to several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudina Fierro in 2000. Born February 15, 1910 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Ernest lived 92 years. A retired diesel mechanic foreman for Rhodes and Jamison, he enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Vigil Service 4:00 p.m. at the Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA. Funeral Mass will be Monday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 5788 Thornton Avenue., Newark. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward, CA.
