Obituary for Lucero

Jose Hilario Lucero, age 95, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother was called home to be with the Lord, our Savior Saturday, October 19, 2002. Jose was born in Cuervo, NM and was a resident of Alameda. He was a parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church; he retired from Santa Fe Railroad. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Zenon and Leocadia Lucero; a son, Margarito; two daughters, Lillian and Ruby Ann Rivera; eight sisters; and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Maria; seven sons, Albert Richard and wife, Anna, Carlos and wife, Lorraine, Louie, Geno, Joe, Laurencio and wife, Melecia, and Archie Lucero; two daughters, Vangie Weimer and husband, Oscar, Ida Myers and husband, Randy; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Jose will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Funeral Service will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at San Carlos Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Richard Lucero, John Lujan, Jeffrey Lucero, Ruben Rivera, Paul Gallegos, and Michael Lucero. Honorary bearers will be Delano Lucero, Adrian Lucero, Frank Rivera, and Mathew Lucero. For floral assistance, please call 898-3160.
