Obituary for Santillanes

Joseph Randall"Randy" Santillanes, 50, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully in his sleep, Saturday, October 26, 2002. Randy was born April 30, 1952 the son of David and Lydia Armijo Santillanes in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Randy participated in the Special Olympics of New Mexico; he loved music of all kinds, and he loved being outdoors. Randy was such an inspiration to all who knew him. Randy is survived by his parents, Dave and Lydia Santillanes of Albuquerque; one sister, Kathleen Santillanes of Albuquerque; one brother, David Santillanes, Jr. and wife, LuAnn of Denver, CO; nieces and nephews, Scott Schieder and wife, Ana of Albuquerque, Russel and Kurtis Santillanes of Denver, CO, Michelle Makil of Las Vegas, NV, and Jennifer Labra of San Antonio, TX; also numerous aunts and uncles, all who loved him very much. A Rosary will be recited for Randy this evening, Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th Street NW, Albuquerque, NM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Private Entombment will follow. The family encourages memorial contributions be made in Randy's name to the Special Olympics of New Mexico, 6600 Palomas Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
