Obituary for Meyers

John William Meyers, 51, a resident of Rio Rancho and formerly from Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2002. John was born February 10, 1951 the son of Richard and Mae Bengtson Meyers in Rockford, Illinois. John had been a Firefighter/Dispatcher/Paramedic with the Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety before his death. John had also been a volunteer with the Rio Rancho Department before becoming a full time employee. John was a diehard football fan, loved camping, the outdoors, and traveling. He also loved to spend time with his two cats, Amigo and Inky. John was preceded in death by his father, Richard Meyers in 1993; and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Cindy of the family home; his mother, Mae Meyers; sister, Wendy Strom and husband, Richard of Atlanta, GA; brother, Randall Meyers and wife, Donna of Lindenwold, NJ; several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. The Visitation for John will be on Saturday, November 2, 2002 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the Service at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Cremation will follow Services. It has been suggested that contributions be made in John's name to the American Lung Association of New Mexico, 216 Truman NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108 or to the Vista Care Sandia Hospice Pavilion, 5201 Venus NE, Suite A & B, Albuquerque, NM 87113.
