Obituary for Brooks

Arthur J. Brooks, age 56, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew and friend was called home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 2, 2002, after a long illness. Arthur was born in Alliance,OH to the late Roy and Velma Leone Brooks Green; and was a long time resident of Rio Rancho. He graduated in 1965 from McKinley High School in Sebring, OH. Arthur served our country in the Untied States Air Force for six years; and received many awards and medals. He was a very active member of the American Legion Post #69, and of Post #118 until his illness. He was preceded in death by his step father, Shearron Green; two uncles, Arthur Moore and Wendell Moore. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Kathleen (Kathy) T. Brooks of the family home; stepson, Gregory J. Andersen and wife Bonnie; his grandchildren, Kara, Kaycee, Kalista and Kirsten Andersen. Also surviving are sisters, Billie Jean Gallagher and husband Jim; stepsisters, Sharon Ann, Susie Green and Linda Faudrer; numerous sister and brother in laws; his aunt Vaunda Gorby and uncle Ray, uncle Jack Moore and aunt Judy both of Sebring, OH, uncle Richard Moore and aunt Maggie of Spokane, WA; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives; and a host of friends. Funeral services for Arthur will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda. Fellowship and refreshments will follow the services at the American Legion Post #69, 9000 4th Street NW.
