Obituary for Phillips

Rev. Joney L. Phillips, age 74, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother was called home to be with the Lord our Savior, Thursday, November 7, 2002. Rev. Phillips was a resident of Los Lunas formerly of Torreon, NM. He was past Pastor of the Rock Springs Holiness Mission in Torreon, NM for 30 years; and a proud Veteran of the United States Army. Rev. Phillips is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Pauline M. Phillips of the family home; his children, Beverly Hines and husband, Tom of Albuquerque and Dwight Phillips and wife, Eileen of Baltimore, MD; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margie Sherrill and Barbara Hooper; one brother Lewis Phillips; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be held Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Interment will follow at the Cuba Baptist Cemetery in Cuba, NM. Casket bearers will be Dwight Phillips, Tom Hines, Philip Hines, Bruce Pinto, Stephen DePriest, and Lawrence Phillips, Jr. Honorary Bearers will be Leo Charley, Bruce Sandoval, James Hasdale and Eddie Kosea.
