Harold"Dean" Billingsley February 4, 1941 - November 9, 2002The Lord called Dean home on November 9, 2002. His long and courageous battle with cancer has ended. Dean touched many hearts in his short 61 years and all who knew him will remember him always with love and respect. We will all miss him! Dean was raised in the farming country of Arkansas, where he spent his younger years farming, hunting and fishing with his family. He left home at the age of 18 to work for Western Union in the Southern states. At the age of 24, he went to work for Mountain Bell in Belen, NM and retired there in 2000. He then moved to Buchanan Dam, TX with his wife, Ann the following year to help care for his wife's ailing parents. He is survived by his wife, Ann Billingsley of Buchanan Dam, TX; mother, Dora Billingsley of Tuckerman, AR; son, Steven Billingsley and wife, Valerie of Bosque, NM; daughter, Renee Marquez and husband, Joe of Belen, NM; daughter, Dr. Carla Martinez of El Paso, TX; brother, Ellis Billingsley and wife, Bev of Muscatine, IA; sisters, Jane Massey of Batesville, AR, Brenda Green and husband, Eddie of Tuckerman, AR, Martha Zuber and husband, Eugene of Newport, AR, and Shirley Hall of Batesville, AR; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Billingsley; and sister, Kathryn Billingsley. A Celebration of Dean's life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel in Belen. Family and close friends are invited to gather and remember the fun times, hunting stories and card games that Dean loved to talk about at the reception following the Service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cancer Research Center of your choice.
