A Memorial Service for Mary H. Beighley, wife of Dr. Harold V. Beighley will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Hobbs, NM. Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home of Hobbs. Mrs. Beighley died Sunday, November 17, 2002 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. Mary Elizabeth Herbert Beighley was born on August 27, 1924 in Columbus, OH to Chester and Marie Herbert. She attended Ohio State University and graduated from Christ Hospital Nursing School in Cincinnati, OH. She married Dr. Harold Beighley on October 7, 1949 in Columbus, OH. They moved to Albuquerque in 1950 where they lived until 1969, then moved to Hobbs, NM. Mary was a member of the Junior League of Albuquerque Chapter Q of the PEO Sisterhood, St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Hobbs Country Club Ladies Golf Association, Salvation Army Board of Directors, New Mexico Chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild, and Hobbs Rose Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Elizabeth Beighley. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Cindy Gardner of Wray, CO; three sons, Tom of San Antonio, TX, Donn of Dexter, MO, and Sam of Mesa, AZ; two sisters, Virginia Gardner of Alpharetta, GA, and Anne Frank of Greensburg, KY; one brother, John Herbert of Phoenix, AZ; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, NM Boys Ranch, or the charity of your choice.
