David Romero, 54, a resident of Belen, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 22, 2002. He was a member of the Santa Rita Followers and Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. David enjoyed the outdoors and had many fishing and hunting excursions however his strongest passion was his loving grandchildren and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Prospero and Lenor Romero. David is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Shiela of the family home; his three children, Ida A. Morrison and her husband, James"Danny", Toby A. Romero, and Tammy Romero, all of Belen; his five grandchildren, Brandon and Haley Lopez and Charlene, Crystal and Amanda Morrison, all of Belen; four brothers, Gene Romero and his wife, Geraldine of Socorro, NM, Cleto Romero, Gabriel Romero and his wife, Dolly, Frankie Romero and his wife, Dolores, all of Belen; three sisters, Lou Gonzales and her husband, Marcos of Socorro, NM, Bennie Sanchez and her husband, Alfredo of Belen, and Sylvia Mascarena and her husband, Leroy, of Albuquerque; his mother-in-law, Marie Chavez; two brother-in-laws and four sister-in-laws. He is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. A viewing will be held on Monday, November 24 at 5:30 p.m. followed by a rosary at 6:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 25 at 10:00 a.m. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be David Chavez, Abel Lopez, Joshua Peralta, Robert Gonzales, Ricky Rael and Trinny Romero. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dicky Montoya and Michael Gonzales.
