11/5/1926 - 11/28/2002 Richard Mason Solarez, 76, a resident of Glendale, Arizona and Los Lunas, New Mexico, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 28, 2002. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Glendale, AZ. He served in the US Army during W.W.II. Richard had many hobbies, however basketball was his passion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Lenor Solarez; his brothers, Jose, Gabriel, Ramon, and Robert Solarez; two sisters, Hortencia and Mercedes. He is survived by his loving companion of 37 years, Dolores Padilla of Los Lunas; his eight children, Richard, Mary Alice, Victoria, John, Irma, Ofelia, Norma, and Robert; his loving nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, December 2, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.
