Obituary for Bentz

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Saturday December 07, 2002

Arnold F. Bentz. After a sudden and devastating illness, our dearest Arnold, age 57, returned to his Heavenly Father, December 6, 2002. Devoted husband of Cathy; and loving father to Matthew and Marisa; he was cherished by his parents, Lillian and Arnold Bentz (long time residents of Albuquerque); a younger brother, Melvin; and his sister-in-law, Rhonda from California also survive him. Arnold's early achievements included earning an Eagle Scout Award and graduating from the Albuquerque Academy. After completing his degree from Albuquerque's St. Joseph's College in 1970, Arnold began a long career as a chemist, criminologist and lab technician. Known for the diversity of his skills and ability to resolve equipment problems, he will be greatly missed in his current position with the New Mexico State Lab. Services will be private, attended by family and close friends. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, memorials should be donated in his name to the Presbyterian Hospital Oncology Unit (1100 Central Avenue, S. E., Albuquerque, 87106) where the nurses provided exceptional care with skill and compassion.
