Obituary for Lozano

Jesus (Jesse) Grijalva Lozano, 74, a resident of Belen, passed away on December 10, 2002. He was born on December 16, 1927 in Ajo, Arizona to Francisco and Pilar Lozano. He was married to Maisie Lozano in August of 1968. Jesse was a World War II veteran having served in the US Army. After his discharge, he worked for Phelps Dodge Copper Mines until his retirement in 1982, and moved to Belen, New Mexico. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and served as a member of the Knights of Columbus, holding the Fourth Degree as the Recording Secretary. For the past seventeen years, Jesse worked for the Belen Police Department as a School Crossing Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Pilar Lozano; and one brother, Francisco Lozano Jr. Jesse is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Maisie Lozano; his four children, Michelle Lozano-Armijo, Richard Espiritu, Theodore R. Espiritu Sr., and Eileen Facio; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great- grandchildren; his sisters, Concho Lopez and her husband, Benny, and Eva Espinoza; a brother, Bart Lozano and his wife, Margaret; many nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends. A Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2002 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with a Rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday December 14, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with Father David Gallegos officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full Military honors. Arrangements by Riverside Funeral Home in Belen, 864-4448.
