Obituary for Olivares

Ismael A."Smiley" born in San Antonio, TX and later a 60-year resident of Albuquerque, died December 11, 2002. He is survived by his four children, Annie Chavez, Reyna Olivares, Fred Olivares, and Agedo Olivares; his six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eliza Sauceda; and sister-in-law, Mary Baca. His memory and spirit are also carried on through his many friends and other family members. Mr. Olivares was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of Post #13. He owned and operated a local business, San Pedro Shoe Repair for 27 years. Viewing and visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2002 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 14, 2002 at St. Francis Xavier Church 820 Broadway Blvd SE with Fr. Nick Nirschel, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Agedo Olivares, Fred Olivares, Augie James Olivares, Daniel Olivares, George Sanchez and Joe Chavez serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Patrick Lovato and Paul Gomez. Services are under the direction of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE.
