Obituary for Fieder

Doris Fieder, 78, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 19 years, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2002. Doris was born December 14, 1923 the daughter of Gabriel Gerard and Sarah Smith Currie Laureyns in Newark, New Jersey. She came to New Mexico from Rutherford, New Jersey. Doris was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. She hosted a Bible study in her home; volunteered with the Rio Rancho Public library; was a Docent at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History; she was also a member of the"Rockhounds". Doris is remembered as a cheerful, quick-witted lady and a devoted wife. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Edward, of the family home; one brother, Jerry Laureyns and wife, Sara of Larkspur, CA; one brother-in-law, Frederick William Fieder of Montgomery, AL; several nieces and nephews including Fred Fieder and wife, Susan, Shawn Laureyns, and Ryan Laureyns, Ed Fieder and his wife, Jan and Pris Dailey and her husband, Bob; also great-nieces and great-nephews, including Freddie, Laura, Eddie, Robby, Cole, Meg, Amanda, and Edward Allen. Visitation for Doris will be held today, Friday, December 13, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Service will be on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 2701 The American Road, SE, Rio Rancho, with Rev. Jeannine E. Lamb officiating. Private Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bob Simpson, Dan Irick, James Irick, Fred Fieder, Freddie Fieder, and Eddie Fieder.
