Obituary for Levy

Marie Flink Levy, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 25, 2001. She was born on August 12, 1910 in Tchula, Mississippi and lived for many years in New Orleans, LA with her beloved husband, Edwin Levy, Sr., who predeceased her. She is survived by her sons; Robert D. Levy and wife, Susan M. Conway of Albuquerque and Edwin Levy, Jr. and wife, Julia of Vancouver, B.C., Canada; her grandchildren, Jane C. Levy of Portland, OR, Jennifer Levy and husband, Paul Schwalb of New York City and Ben Gerwing of Sechelt, B.C., Canada; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Levy was a talented and dedicated teacher in New Orleans, both in the public schools and at Temple Sinai. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, an avid mah jong player, a devotee of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra and a fanatic sports fan. She also had more charm than the law allows, and made a friend of everyone she met. Mrs. Levy will be buried at Hebrew Rest Cemetery in New Orleans. Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2001, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
