Obituary for Lambert

Another Angel, Elzada Catherine Lambert, 97, was called home on Saturday, December 22, 2001. Most family and friends affectionately referred to her as "Grandma". She was born in Princteon, MO on April 8, 1904 to Madelyn Levisa and Henry Clements. She married Cleon Lambert on November 21, 1921. After several moves between Iowa and Missouri, they settled in Esterville, IA to own and operate The Lamberts Café to 1941 through 1947. The next stop was Albuquerque, NM then onward to the Continental Divide to run The Top of the World Café. It was back to Albuquerque to own and operate the Sky View Café on West Central from 1949 to 1959. Grandma loved to cook and bake and was well known for her famous homemade pies, noodles and melt-in-your-mouth fudge. A real peoples person, Grandma loved to laugh and always had a smile and joke or two to share. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends as she touched the lives of so many. Grandma was preceded in death by her husband, Cleon Lambert in 1971; sons, Bill Lambert and Kenneth Lambert and grandchildren, Sharon Chamblee and Monty Chamblee. She is survived by her daughter, Madelyn Chamblee and a son, Dr. Paul D. Lambert and wife, Marty all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Dick Lambert, Charlie Lambert, Jimmy Lambert, Cathy Lambert Hill, Billy Lambert, Tom Lambert, John Lambert, and Kelly Lambert O'Riley, all of Burlington, IA, Kenneth Lambert Jr., Patrick Lambert, Kevin Lambert, Katherine Lambert, Kim Chamblee, Melanie Lambert Cravens, Dr. Kurt P. Lambert, Brett Lambert, and Matthew Lambert, all of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her 40 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, December 28, 2001, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Dick Lambert, Charlie Lambert, Dr. Kurt P. Lambert, Brett Lambert, Matt Lambert, and Patrick Lambert. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Thursday, December 27, 2001, 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
