Obituary for Albright

Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Albright was released from her pain on Christmas Day 2001. Liz was born in Springfield, IL on June 11, 1921. She grew up in Springfield, IL graduating from Feitshans High School in 1939 and worked at Sangamo Electric for a number of years. She married Carl Henry Albright of Springfield in 1943 and supported Lt. Col. Albright throughout his 27-year military career. Following military retirement, Liz returned to Springfield until 1983, then she settled again in Albuquerque, NM where she remained until her death. Liz is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lt. Col. Carl H. Albright U.S.A.F. (Ret.) and their three children; Carl Frederick (Rick) Albright and his wife, LaWanda of Tijeras, NM, Lt. Col. Wayne Howard Albright and his wife, Geraldine of Livermore, CA, Carla Jean Albright Furry and her husband, SMSgt. (Ret.) Roger Furry of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren also survive her. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Pansy Smith Howard of Springfield, IL. Liz was a member of St. Marks on the Mesa Episcopal Church and volunteered extensively throughout her life in a number of organizations including the Gray Gladiators, Air Force Family Services, the Grey Ladies and the VFW Auxilliary. Services will be held Friday, 12:00 noon, at St. Marks on the Mesa Episcopal Church, 431 Richmond NE, with Father James Trainor officiating. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl F. Albright, Jeremy L. Albright, Wayne H. Albright, David P. Helton, Roger A. Furry and Ryan A. Furry. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
