Obituary for Sebastian

Alden Dean Sebastian, 76, of Eureka, IL died at 4:35 a.m. February 16, 2001 at his residence. He was born June 25, 1924 at Granite City, IL the son of Lester Lee and Leeta West Sebastian. He married Lois E. Seal on November 17, 1945 at Farmington, MO. She died February 12, 2001. Survivors include one daughter, Jeanne (Bob) Boertlein, Eureka, IL; two sons, Alden Dean (Peg) Sebastian Jr. Kilbourne, IL and Herb L. (Carol) Sebastian, Eureka, IL; and one sister, Patricia L. Leach, Harrisonville, MO; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2001 at Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home 508 S. Main St. Eureka, IL. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Mr. Sebastian was employed as a supervisor in the rigging area of Caterpillar Tractor Company Mapleton plant for 33 years retiring in 1982. He was a Merchant Marine with the U. S. Coast Guard serving during WWII. He was a member of the Peoria Area German-American Society, the American Legion Albuquerque, NM and was an avid woodworker and genealogist.
