Obituary for Evans

Jon E. Evans, 66, of Glendale, AZ, passed away February 14, 2001. Born in Chillocothe, OH June 26, 1934, and lived most of his life in New Mexico and Arizona. He served over 15 years in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves, was a district sales manager for Mountain Bell for 18 years and was a manager for the Circle K Corporation. Prior to his retirement, he served as the Director of Emergency Preparedness for the State of New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Cecil; sisters Gypsy Twillman of Benttendorf, IA, and Sally Aguilar of Chicago, IL; brother, Tony Aguilar of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Robin Jones of Clovis, NM; sons, Jon and Steve, both of Glendale, AZ, Tom Montoya of Long Island, NY, and Stacy of Memphis, TN; as well as 15 grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4701 Juan Tabo NE, in Albuquerque, NM, followed by burial at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM, at 1:30 p.m. He was loved by all that he touched and will be greatly missed.
