Mrs. Stella M. Martinez, 88, a former resident of Bernalillo N.M. in her younger years and then a resident of Albuquerque passed away on June 26, 2001. She was born December 26, 1912. She is survived by her two daughters: Rose Marie Alderete of Corrales, N.M. and Alice J. Sedillo; two sons: Charlie V. Martinez and wife Dorothy and Tom Martinez and wife Betty of Montebello, Ca.; a sister in law: Aniceta Martinez; 29 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Four generations survive her. She is preceded in death by her husband: Cleofes Martinez; parents: Rufino and Adela Martinez; son: Willie H. Martinez; daughter: Irene Alderete; a granddaughter: Amorette Alderete; a grandson: Fernando Anaya; son in law: John Sedillo Jr.; a daughter in law: Barbara V. Martinez; sisters: Fidelina Apodaca, Margaret Zamora, Bernardita Ortiz, Manuelita Mata, Adela Gallegos, Lucia Valdez and Bersabe Silva; a brother: Luis Martinez. Mrs. Martinez was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Sunday afternoon at 4:00 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with visitation after 3:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 9:00 at San Martin Catholic Church, 8301 Camino San Martin SW with final visitation at the church after 8:30 by Father James. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Chuck Martinez, Robert Gonzales, Richard L. Sedillo, Johnny Ray Sedillo, Chris Alderete and Patrick Martinez. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of the arrangements.
