Obituary for Dugan

Alfred Edward Dugan, 87, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2001. Alfred was born November 27, 1913 the son of Noah and Stella Wilkerson Dugan in Alpine, Texas. At the age of three, his family moved to Phoenix, AZ by covered wagon, it took 40 days to make the move. He lived in Colorado for 31 years, Santa Fe for 12 years, and then moved to Rio Rancho. Alfred had been a farmer and Ranch owner before retiring. He was a member of the Rio Rancho United Methodist Church. He was married to "Alcie" Jeannette Wilson. Alfred was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby and Carl Dugan. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jeannette of Rio Rancho; and three children, Vernon Dugan of Houston, TX, Robert Dugan and wife, Vicky of Houston, TX, and Ronald Tanner and wife, Jane of Orem, UT; two sisters, Evelyn Dunham of Oregon, and Freda Blahosky of Pecos, TX; nine grandchildren, Connie Dugan, Jeannie Clark, Duke, Tiffini, Travis, Jared, Javen, SumerLyn, and Ben; and 15 great-grandchildren. Alfred was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be Monday, July 2, 2001 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with the Service on Tuesday, July 3, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rio Rancho United Methodist Church, 1652 Abrazo Rd. NE, (just west of Unser Blvd.) with Rev. Gregg Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho, 892-9920.
