Obituary for Pierce

John Wade Pierce, 43, beloved son and brother, died Wednesday, July 11, 2001, in Phoenix, AZ, where he lived for the past 15 years. John was born and raised in Albuquerque. He is survived by his mother, Faye Pierce; brother, Clayton Pierce and wife, Allyson; and nephew, Scott, all of Albuquerque; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of friends who will miss him. He was preceded in death by his father, Billie L. Pierce. John received his degree in engineering at UNM in 1985, and he was a member of Pi Tau Sigma. After moving to Phoenix, he received a teaching degree in physics in 1997. John was an avid reader and a constant seeker of knowledge, was involved in auto racing and enjoyed dancing. In fact, he was a winner of many dancing awards and taught ballroom dancing in his spare time. Services will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Wednesday 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
