Obituary for Magee

Frances Guinn Magee, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died Sunday, July 15, 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Maud Magee and husband, Maury Nyquist of Denver, CO and Margaret Ann Magee; son, Fred Ira Magee, Jr. and wife, Sharon, all of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, Heather, Glen, Gretchen and Beth. Mrs. Magee was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ira Magee, Sr. She received her B.S. Degree in Math, Science and Education from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS in 1935; and her Masters of Arts in French from Duke University in 1941. Mrs. Magee was a lifetime member of A.A.U.W. She was a trainer, leader and supporter of Girls Scouts. Mrs. Magee worked with Bethel Five Jobs Daughters and Eastern Star for many years. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and U.M.W. Mrs. Magee taught Math in both Mississippi and New Mexico for two decades. Services will be held Wednesday, 9:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Rev. Charles E. Price officiating. Interment will take place at 12:00 noon, at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
