John J. McDermott, Sr., 73, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died in Albuquerque July 11, 2001. He was born in St. Louis November 17, 1927 and lived in Albuquerque since 1970. Married to Jane Ellen Martin for 47 1/2 years, he was a business man, business owner and US Army Veteran. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and received many awards for his years of outstanding service. He was a member of the Masonic Order, the York Rite, Scottish Rite and the Shrine. He is survived by his wife; his sons, John Jr. of Eagle Nest, NM and Michael of Littleton, CO; and two grandchildren. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a contribution be made to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 96911 Washington, DC 20090-6911. Services pending.
