Obituary for Davis

Forest A. Davis, 86, a longtime resident of New Mexico and a resident of Bosque Farms for 31 years, died Saturday, June 23, 2001. He is survived by his two sons, Marion Davis and wife, Helen of Albuquerque and Donald L. Davis and wife, Joann of Bloomfield; one daughter, Betty L. Lakey and husband, Richard of Peralta; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Viola V. Davis. Forest was born August 31, 1914 in Stonewall, OK. He was a member of the Oddfellows and a 32¯ Mason. Mr. Davis joined the Sheet Metal Union Local #49 in 1948 and went to work for the Zia Company of Los Alamos. He left there in 1968. He moved to Bosque Farms and worked for the Henderson Construction Co. until 1973 when he retired. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, 12:00 p.m., at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Pallbearers will be Carl Goodall, Dwayne Peters, Clyde Laster, Dirk Davis, David Burge, Russell Virden, Frank DiBenedetti and Dan Kew. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
